  • It has long been promised, and now it’s made real — the drones deliver packages are here at long last! Or at least being tested for now. Unveiled in Lithia, Florida, a UPS truck drove by as a drone flew from it, dropped off a package and drove back into the truck — with the idea being that a human drives by during the route and the drones fly out and do the messy job of leaving packages on people’s doors. Could they fly into apartment building? I mean, probably not, right? And the driver of the UPS truck would have to watch the drone and then make sure it flies back. But still, people! The future is here!

The idea of the drones is that they can simplify a driver’s route. According to the UPS CEO Mark Wallace “This is a big step toward bolstering efficiency in our network and reducing our emissions at the same time.” As for me. I want to get my stupid video games I ordered from Amazon delivered via helicopter, so this is all right by me!
