Trump Launches Surprise Missile Attack on Syria

Although the information coming in is still sparse, it seems like Donald Trump has launched fifty nine tomahawk missiles into the Al Sharyat airfield in Syria, crediting the recent gas attacks as his justification for the bombings. The bombing were meant to hit the airfield in order to cripple Syria’s air attack capabilities.

Russia has long been an ally of Assad, and a potential agent in helping Donald Trump get elected to the presidency. Reportedly, Russia has been notified of the attacks ahead of time. This also means the Russian government was given more warning that many in the government — including congress as this could be interpreted as an act of war.

Trump was quoted as saying “Tonight, I ordered a targeted military strike on the air base in Syria from where the chemical attack was launched…It is in this vital national security interest of the United States to prevent and deter the spread and use of deadly chemical weapons.” However, no chemical weapons were targeted in the attack.

Much more will be coming out in the next few days, and this will continue to escalate, with the posibility of war on the horizon. Many are praising Trump for his actions, but afterwe only recently exited America’s deepest quagmire in Iraq, not thinking through such dangerous and harmful actions is terrifying. Who knows what will happen next.
