  • The internet is still adding wrinkles to our day to day life that we are unsure how to deal with, and the fact of Facebook killings has been a new one. it’s an issue Facebook has had to deal with before, and now the matter has taken on a grislier face after one Steve Stephens posted a video of him pointing a gun at the head of a 74 year old father and shooting. The video was up for three hours during which many who found it called the police. Facebook soon blocked them.

Recently the manhunt has extended out to other states surrounding Ohio, where the murders originally took place (in Cleveland), after a cell phone signal from Stephens was found in Pennsylvania. Those who see Stephens are urged to call 911 and the FBI is urging anyone who comes across him.

While Facebook acted quickly, it now has a PR issue on his hands, and will have to be on the look out for future violent videos — not an enviable position for the company to be in.
