Usher Being Sued For Not Disclosing Herpes to At Least Four More People

A new lawsuit is being filed against Usher, again alleging the singer had sex with at least 4 more people without first disclosing he has herpes.

This new lawsuit against Usher comes after the details of a 2012 trial became public. The case files detail how Usher had unprotected sex with an unnamed woman around 2009 and 2010. Around that time, Usher contracted herpes and saw doctors for a green discharge from his penis.

After treatment, Usher’s doctors say he is asymptomatic, meaning that Usher doesn’t show any signs of infection. However, it still means he has herpes! Unfortunately Usher, told his partner his results were negative and continued to have unprotected sex with her.

The case was settled for $1.1 million dollars, but records were sealed for 4 years. When the news broke that Usher has herpes, 3 new people came forward alleging the same thing happened to them.

Attorney Lisa Bloom is representing Quantasia Sharpton, 2 women and a man, who all claim they had unprotected sex with Usher and only found out he has herpes from the news. Sharpton spoke at a press conference where she told the story of how she and Usher met after one of his concerts, saying — “We talked for a while and then we engaged in sexual contact. He never warned me about any STDs. It was just after my 19th birthday.”

However, Sharpton tested negative for herpes when she had a child last year. Negative or positive, the risk is important to disclose. As she put it— “Although I am negative, I was upset by the reports because I would have never consented if I would have known.”

She may not have herpes now, that doesn’t mean she would have taken the risk then. Or at least tell Usher to wear a condom.

As lucky as Sharpton was, Lisa Bloom alleges that at least one of her clients is herpes positive as a direct result of sexual contact with Usher.

It takes a lot of guts to publicly stand up to a celebrity’s bad behavior, especially when the internet can be so vile, and if you have herpes it doesn’t mean the end of your sex life, but you do have to disclose.
