  • Jake Paul recently opened up to the Hollywood Reporter about his newfound infamy — much of it unwanted, saying amongst other things — that he currently feels like a zoo animal due to all of his fans coming to him and staring at him, implying that Jake Paul hates all of the teenage visitors as much as his neighbors do.

The article also covers what REALLY happened with Disney, and unsurprisingly, the split was not as mutual as it seemed. However, more surprising is just how thin the ice was getting in the relationship between Jake Paul and Disney. While Disney seemed to be a fan of the audience Jake Paul would bring in, they were not fans of many of his videos — in particular one where Jake Paul went to Target and generally made a ruckus, and one where he flipped off the camera would get Paul phone calls from the company asking him to tone it done. It was the now famous KTLA segment where Jake Paul harassed reporters in a story about his neighbors annoyance with him burning furniture (Jake Paul’s explanation by the way — “Yes we had a furniture fire, but nobody got hurt”, kind of misses the point of why everyone is mad at him for a furniture fire) was the breaking point for Disney. Paul explains it like so —

They basically called me and were like, ‘Yo, what’s going on, what’s going on?’ ” says Jake. “And I just explained the situation, and they were like, ‘OK. We want to expedite this process of weaning you off the show.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s fine. But it’s going to look like you guys fired me.’ And they were like, ‘We can say that we mutually parted ways and blah, blah, blah.’ And that’s the reality of the story.”

What’s weird is why is Jake Paul coming out about it now rather than continuing trying to save face? It’s good to hear the star circling around to accepting responsibility for his new reputation, although still being a little far from fully accepting it. What do you think of the story though?
