When a tragedy such as Hurricane Harvey hits Houston with the country watching, it’s important to stay alert and informed — both with how you can help the people struck by the hurricane and that you can tell what stories are false and which are true. First off, the most important part — how you can help.

The Red Cross is always looking for money, and they are giving a fantastic guide on their Twitter feed on how you can help with the tragedy. To begin with, you can make an incredibly simple ten dollar ($10) donation by texting HARVEY to 90999, or calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or visiting redcross.org. More information in the Tweet below.

But now the fake photos. Shira Lazar goes down through some of the photos roaming around the internet that you have to know are fake.
