  • Charles Manson, leader of the infamous Manson Family cult that committed a string of murders in the 1960’s has died from natural causes. After his murders, Manson was the recipient of 12 life sentences due to the death penalty being temporarily inactive in California. Manson’s cult led a series of murders whose victims included Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Wojciech Frykowski, Steven Parent, Leno LaBianca, Rosemary LaBianca, Gary Hinman and Donald Shea.

The Manson murders have gained a foothold in the national consciousness due to their ugliness and terrifying demeanor. Charles Manson has been a media figure for the remainder of his life, making the occasional ugly appearance as he continues to work his way deeper and deeper into pop culture. It’s important to remember, however, that he was a real person, and that his victims were real human beings. We remember them today.
