  • Gang, have you played the predictive text game? If you have an iPhone, it’s easy! In part of the attempt to make your texting life a little easier, Apple installed a tool into your texts that guesses the next word you’re going to type. The thing is odd and very revealing, since it uses the kinds of words you yourself often type in to guess the next one. People have had fun with the tool, and now they’re taking it to the next level — with Botnik using predictive text to write an entire chapter of a Harry Potter book. Note: that “entire chapter” means like, four pages, but it’s an exciting four pages!

Read them for yourself… but I think the best way to write about this is through predictive text after I text myself about 20 entries I did from the past month! Here we go. Predictive text. Ahem —

I don’t think she was actually doing anything wrong. You don’t know what you’re talking about and what if you’re a bad man. You can make a good friend but not a good boy.

Gosh. That’s creepy! I don’t like that one bit. Why did my phone write that? Who does my predictive text think I am? Anyway, you probably hated that, but I think you will like the predictive text Harry Potter chapter. It’s basically about Ron being a weirdo, so it’s great! What do you think though?
