  • The theme of last night’s Golden Globes was “Time’s Up” — which is both a fund dedicated to helping stop workplace sexual harassment, and the concept of it being time up — for predatory sexual harassment, assault, rape and sexism. Then, James Franco won for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical for playing Tommy Wiseau in The Disaster Artist.

This story isn’t even a secret — just a thing that we sort of glossed over for some reason — when James Franco was caught hitting on a 17-year-old girl on Instagram in 2014. Here are the screengrabs.

  • Franco went on Live with Kelly and Michael and explained away the situation — “I guess I’m just a model of how social media is tricky. It’s way that people meet each other today, but what I’ve learned — I guess because I’m new to it— is you don’t know who’s on the other end. I used bad judgment and I learned my lesson.”

However, it isn’t only that story that’s grabbing headlines and turning heads. Allie Sheedy — an actress best known for The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo’s Fire and WarGames — did a play directed by Franco in 2014 and tweeted out her contention with him winning these awards in a cryptic manner that ended with the hashtag #MeToo. You can read the tweets below.

  • The tweets ended with, “Why is Franco allowed in? Said too much. Nite love ya #MeToo,” which prompted others to discuss their experiences being sexually harassed and assaulted by James Franco — and one reporter hinted an exposé is in the works.
