YouTuber Graham the Christian has accomplished the impossible. Over 15 consecutive days — usually for more than 17 hours a day — Graham said “Gucci Gang” one million times to raise money for charity. What? More importantly, why? Well, I guess I can think of worse ways to raise money for charity.
Gucci Gang, Gucci Gang, Gucci Gang!
Okay, so for all the grandpas out there, what is Gucci Gang? Well, “Gucci Gang” is the hugely popular song from 17-year-old rapper Lil Pump. The song has spent 17 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, and currently has over 430 million views on YouTube. No doubt because it is a moody banger, and more importantly, Gucci Gang is fun to say.
So, Graham The Christian. Graham’s journey to say “Gucci Gang” one million times began on December 30th, charting his progress over his live streams and updating people on his progress over Twitter.
Five days later, Graham had reached 220,000 “Gucci Gangs,” and had raised $10,000 for Red Nose Day, an organization dedicated to helping children in poverty. Graham said he chose this charity because he’s worked with impoverished kids before.
But, why the phrase “Gucci Gang?”
Well, Graham explained in his upload description that he chose Gucci Gang because it’s “an extremely relevant and popular song/phrase at the moment. It was fun to say and is catchy.” He also said he doesn’t have a life.
