  • Look, we all hate Facebook, whether it’s bringing us Russian bots that influence the election, or, as this Splitsider article points out — bringing the death knell of a profitable Internet model for web video — we know Facebook has a lot of cultural blood on its hands. Enter our hero, clad in the comedy roles of many years — Jim Carrey has created a post, with a just beautiful drawing of Mark Zuckerberg and an explanation of why. Carrey explained in a tweet —

  • Yes, it is the Russian propaganda that set Carrey on edge — which is a very good reason, honestly. Even if Facebook didn’t intend to lead people on with Russian propaganda, the fact that its algorithm can put something like the New York Times on the same level as a piece of Russian propaganda (as Matt Klinman so aptly put it in the must-read Splitsider article released earlier today) can influence the way people think for better or — as our last election has shown — for worse.

But, who has the strength to boycott Facebook? I mean, could you? Are you as strong as all around weirdo and incredible artist, Jim Carrey? I don’t know, but let us know in the comments or on Twitter at @WhatsTrending. Stay away from Facebook, you hear me?
