Fox News Anchor Lists Every School Shooting To Happen Since 1999

It takes two minutes.

  • The Parkland, Florida high school shooting which happened on February 14th, 2018 was one of many gun tragedies to befall the United States. By now, we’ve seen the familiar Onion headline pop into our newsfeeds “No Way to Prevent This,” Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens — with the added addendum that the writer of the original headline mourns that he never thought this would happen so close to his home.

  • Indeed, it seems like gun violence is not a problem without a cap, and this school is not going to be the last to be touched by gun violence. While normally Fox News tries to avoid covering gun violence from the point of view of this being a near constant occurrence — Shepherd Smith decided to, instead of ignoring the issue, list the schools which have been involved in shootings. And list them he does — he lists every school to be the victim of a mass shooting since Columbine — covering only pre-college schools, missing such shootings as Virginia Tech. The list takes two minutes and is worth watching. Shepherd Smith concludes that this is not normal and — without crossing the line Fox News set for him with opinions, by asking that viewers draw their own conclusion to why this is happening.
