  • Millions have turned out all over the country in order to protest gun violence — gun violence of the past, gun violence of the present and hopefully enact change to stop gun violence in the future. Inspired in part by the Parkland shooting, the march is meant to force Congress to finally enact gun control to stop children and innocents from being murdered by gun violence in the future. Footage is coming in from the marches, and people’s inspiring signs, speeches, and efforts are giving hope to everyone who has wanted to make a true change in the ongoing act of gun violence in America. Here are signs and videos from the March.

  • The presence of Black Lives Matter was notable at the event as well, and it is important to note that the work happening now would not have been possible without the Black Lives Matter movement, which was often ignored or demonized by the media. Speakers at the march have referred to this and given BLM a voice, hopefully making changes to make sure the movement is recognized. Naomi Wadler, the speaker here talks about the African American women whose deaths are ignored by the media, saying: “I am here to acknowledge & represent the African-American girls whose stories don’t make the front page of every national newspaper.”
