Ten people, currently unidentified, have been killed in a school shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas. This is the third school shooting in the last eight days and the twenty-second in 2018. Two suspects have since been detained in relation to the massacre. The shooter in question is believed to be a student at the school.
Students said they were being evacuated in the manner of a fire drill, with some reports saying the teacher pulled the fire alarm to evacuate the school. One student was heard saying: “I was in the history hallway, and as soon as we heard the alarms, everybody just started leaving following the same procedure as … (a) practice fire drill, and next thing you know, we just hear … three gunshots, loud explosions, and all the teachers are telling us to run.”
Currently, the entire school district is on lockdown. We will update the story as we continue to receive more information.
