  • There’s a new Olympic sport and it’s called track & field & hotel corridor?

Antwuane Johnson is a high school track athlete from McKinney, Texas. He and some other athletes were staying at an Embassy Suites in Austin, Texas for a Track & Field State Meet at UTA. And, since they had some time to kill, they made a little competition.

It’s a hotel relay. Just like a regular relay race, but spread out over the floors of a hotel. The footage, posted to Antwuane’s Twitter on May 13, went viral. It got shared by World Star Hip Hop, ABC News, ESPN, and others. So much so that @vonta_trippy, who Antwuane credits with the idea, wrote: “My Twitter never been this lit before.”

The Hotel Relay Challenge looks like a tough one to pull off. After all, you have to have a hotel that has this open-courtyard style layout. And, enough friends to do the race on multiple floors. Of course, fun as it looks, not everyone is on board with the Hotel Relay Challenge. Most notably, people in the hotel industry.

What do you guys think? Is the Hotel Relay Challenge fun for everyone or will it give aneurysms to hotel employees? Let us know in the comments.
