In the video entitled, “Shh! TSA Wants to Touch Your Kids,” alschultes captures her three-year-old, wheelchair-bound daughter being investigated by the TSA.
According to Riverfront Times, an Osage Beach, Missouri family suffered an ordeal at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport earlier this month when TSA agents tried to pat down their daughter, Lucy, and take a “wheelchair swab” after taking her stuffed animal, “Lamby,” away.
When TSA agents pressed against the parents’ protestations, Lucy’s mom said that she would record them if they touched her kid.
The footage is peppered with the angry uploader’s sarcastic comments, reflected in her caption: “I feel violated but it’s obvious my daughter brought it on herself. I mean, look at her all dressing like a potential terrorist/drug trafficker. People who roll in on hot pink wheelchairs, wearing a gingerbread coat and clutching a stuffed baby lamb, are just begging to be harassed.”
A TSA spokesperson wrote to RTF: “TSA regrets inaccurate guidance was provided to this family during screening and offers its apology. We are committed to maintaining the security of the traveling public and strive to treat all passengers with dignity and respect. While no pat-down was performed, we will address specific concerns with our workforce.”
