Daredevil, self-described “King of the Highwire,” and seventh-generation member of the “Flying Wallendas” acrobatic family, Nik Wallenda, 34, made history on Sunday night by crossing a quarter-mile of the Grand Canyon while balancing on a tightrope positioned 1,500 feet above the canyon floor, according to Reuters.
Discovery Channel presented a live, international broadcast of the “Skywire with Nik Wallenda” event, which covered Wallenda’s roughly 23-minute journey across the Canyon.
