I’m not sure when we crossed the threshold where calling yourself a nerd became a badge of honor rather than causing a PTSD-induced flashback to your days roaming high school hallways sporting ripe zits, cargo shorts, and ill-advised facial hair, but this invasion of faux nerds — people who never had their backpacks stuffed in a trashcan or came up with elaborate ways to avoid showering in public — needs to stop. Just because you play video games or went to go see the latest Superman movie does not make you a nerd.
