We’ve had mysterious goats invade Boise earlier today, but mysterious puppies scurrying all over an island? It’s true! Seven puppies were found by two men fishing in Cross Lake in Manitoba, Canada, when they heard crying coming off a remote island. When the men approached to investigate they found the puppies, lost on the island! Awww! But also— whaaa!?!?!

The island was completely uninhabited except for these dogs, and the men worked with Norway House Animal Rescue in order to bring them some food and water. The dogs, who are a Labrador crossbreed, are waiting now for animal control to pick them up and put them up for adoption.
The dogs have been named for the characters from that beloved sitcom about being lost on a small landmass in the ocean: “Gilligan’s Island”. (Gilligan, Skipper, The Professor, Ginger, Mary-Ann, Thurston Howell III and Mrs. Howell). I want the puppy named after Mrs. Howell! Give me that obscure character puppy!
