Sony Ericsson marketing executive Peter Farmer weighed in on the topic in a Sony press release about the matter with, “We know there’s a dedicated Minecraft community out there and by issuing this challenge, we’ll see how they showcase their creativity and skills for the ultimate Minecraft building project.”
With social media promotion, the parties involved–Sony Ericsson and the indie Swedish game developer, Mojang–have their bases covered. The official rules were issued on a sleek new facebook app and videos promoting the contest featuring Schaal are YouTube.

When asked about her role in the campaign, Schaal excitedly remarked, “I am looking forward to having the world’s largest collection of giant, pixelated buildings.”
