While DC has cornered the comic book market with their full franchise re-launch “The New 52,” Marvel seems to have corned the film market. Starting in 2008 with the release of Iron Man on through this year’s duo of Thor and Captain America – it would appear that Marvel can do no box-office wrong.
And this brings us to The Avengers – with the past four films (Iron Man 2, Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Captain America) serving as little more than a prologue for Marvel’s hero-heavy tent pole series – The Avengers is poised to be the biggest comic book movie of all time.
With the combined power of the film’s director, Joss Whedon, and the massive audience Marvel has accrued in its 70+ years of existence, the trailer for The Avengers has blown up online receiving several million views in less than 24 hours.

But, will these views translate to ticket sales? Only time will tell, but Marvel seems to have a flawless track record to this point – what do you think?
