Tahrir Square Protests: Videos, Pictures of Violence Spread Online

  • What began as a protest including hundreds of thousands of people in Cairo, Egypt Friday spread to demonstrations in smaller towns and cities over the weekend. Just months after Hosni Mubarak stepped down as Egyptian President, citizens have now reunited in the Tahrir Square to protest the upcoming elections starting next Monday. The protests turned to violence as police attempted to stop the demonstrations with teargas and rubber bullets. According to The Ministry of Health, 3 are confirmed dead and over 192 injured. Many are uploading pictures and videos of the violence on the ground and taking to their social networks to continue to spread awareness of their cause.
