A 1974 video of Cornelius interviewing Jesse Jackson and James Brown is making the rounds throughout Youtube. Jackson, now a staple of African American politics, is nearly unrecognizable in the 1970’s sideburns and bright white suit.
Soul Train was one of the original “can’t miss” variety shows, a legacy that now lives on through MTV, American Idol, and countless other musical landmarks.
