Okay, it isn’t quite Citizen Kane 2 or even Toy Story 2, but for the second time in a week, a sequel to a legendary comedy has been announced. Dumb and Dumber 2, with both Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey attached, was confirmed by Peter Farrelly at the Three Stooges press junket this weekend.
Said Farrelly, “”We’re getting set to shoot Dumb and Dumber 2 in September,” with the screenwriting team behind Hot Tub Time Machine (a very funny, unrated comedy) writing the script. Farrelly went on to disparage the 2003 prequel Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Meet Lloyd saying, “”We did not do Dumb and Dumberer. That was a studio thing.”
First, Anchorman 2 and now Dumb and Dumber 2…next thing we’ll hear is that they’re making Billy Madison 2!
