One of the most beloved actress in the nation is now on Twitter. Betty White, star of such landmark television shows like “Golden Girls” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” joined the social media website on Tuesday. The 90-year-old actress sent out here first tweet on Tuesday night, posting, what else, a joke:

Her verified handle is @BettyMWhite, and she’s already compiled more than 60,000 followers, and by the time you read this her follower count will most likey be higher. The account seems to have been launched in conjunction with the premier of her new candid camera show, “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers” which airs its first episode on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
