  • Mike and Sulley, the lovable monsters from Pixar’s 2001 film, Monsters, Inc. are back in a prequel about how they met in college before getting their jobs at the scare factory.

Smart move, considering those 2001 Monsters, Inc. devotees are now college-aged.

In anticipation of the release, Disney-Pixar created four new teaser trailers, each slightly tweaked, featuring the voiceover work of Billy Crystsal and John Goodman.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Monsters University director Dan Scanlon said it was too hard to choose just one from voice actor Billy Crystal’s many improvisations, so they went with four. And they chose a different hosting site for each, including YouTube, HuffPo, Yahoo!, and Apple.

Fans are invited to vote for their favorite of Mike Wazowski’s lines on the Monsters University official Facebook page, with the winning line set to be drawn up by a Pixar artist and shared exclusively with the Monsters University fans.

Monsters University – “enrolling 2013” – was trending on Twitter this morning, with Topsy.com reporting over 3,000 mentions in the past 6 hours.
