  • Academy Award-winning writer and director, Spike Lee takes us back to his beloved Brooklyn (as explored in many earlier films, such as She’s Gotta Have It (1986), Do The Right Thing (1989), and He Got Game (1998)) with Red Hook Summer — the story of Flik Royale (Jules Brown), a middle-class boy from Atlanta who spends his summer with his deeply religious grandfather, Bishop Enoch Rouse (Clarke Peters), in the housing projects of Red Hook, Brooklyn.

Flik finds his worldview change rapidly through new experiences with family, personal responsibility, and love as he meets Chazz Morningstar (Toni Lysaith), who is able to help him find peace amidst the shock of inner city life.

Red Hook Summer will receive a limited US release starting August 10, 2012.
