  • Downton Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s Civic Arena, a.k.a. “The Igloo,” was dismantled this past year, no longer serving as the home to the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins.

GarrisonHughes Senior Designer & Production Artist, Dan Yazvac, used a hand-held camera and Photoshop to process and compile over 250 images of the site throughout the nine-month long demolition process.

Despite protestation from a group called Preservation Pittsburgh, the SEA awarded a $2.9 million contract to Noralco Corp. of Penn Hills to demolish the arena, which was about to celebrate its 50th birthday.
