The past few weeks have been troublesome for the singing competition show “American Idol,” which went through the loss of two high-profile celebrity judges as Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler left the show after two years as judges. But good news is on the horizon, as Fox announced on Monday that Mariah Carey was joining as a new judge. Carey made the news official after tweeting it through her verified account:
