Clint Eastwood returns to the big screen for the first time since 2008’s Gran Torino. — and he’s playing a similarly irritable man who struggles to remain attached to a time long gone.
Directed by Robert Lorenz and written by Randy Brown, Trouble With the Curve follows a past-his-prime baseball scout, Gus (Clint Eastwood), who takes his daughter (Amy Adams) along for one last recruiting trip. As both being to reevaluate Gus’ familial and professional roles, Gus crosses paths with an old friend and rival scout (Justin Timberlake), who develops an interest in his daughter.
The Warner Bros. film also stars John Goodman and newcomer Joe Massingill.
Trouble With the Curve will hit theaters September 21.
