  • This past Friday, Stand Up 2 Cancer hosted a star-studded telethon at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, raising money and awareness for cancer research with the help of A-list celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts, Justin Timberlake, Robert Pattinson, Samuel L. Jackson and more.

While audiences were moved by performances from Alicia Keys, Coldplay, and TIm McGraw, the highlight of the evening was Taylor Swift’s original tribute to 3-year-old Ronan, who passed away last year after battling neuroblastama. Swift penned the new single, “Ronan,” with help from the boy’s mother, Maya Thompson.

An emotional performance and evocative lyrics such as, “Come on baby with me / We’re gonna fly away from here / You were my best four years,” seem to have left not a dry eye in the house.

The song is now available for purchase on iTunes, with all proceeds going to cancer research.
