  • On Sunday, December 2, our own Shira Lazar and Tyler Oakley hosted the red carpet of The Trevor Project‘s “Trevor Live” gala, the annual star-studded event that raises awareness and funds for programs that help LGBT in crisis.

Andrew Rannells – star of “The New Normal,” “Girls,” and Broadway’s smash hit “The Book of Mormon,” stops by to chat about being raised in a small town and his ultimate dream acting role.

Having grown up in Omaha, Nebraska, Andrew says, “I wish there had been organizations like this when I was a teen. I think that it would’ve perhaps, in some ways, made things a little easier. But I’m happy that it’s here for kids today.”

He also reveals that his dream role of all time would have to be Dorothy in “The Golden Girls.” He asks, “Is it possible that in like 30 years I could do the gay version of ‘Golden Girls’ and I could be Bea Arthur?” Of course you could, Andrew.
