What’s Inside an Etch-A-Sketch? This YouTuber Found Out
Any kid who owned toys growing up has experienced the urge to break them open and see what’s inside. Now you can satisfy that urge without destroying anything, thanks to the Inside Out channel on YouTube.
The one that piqued our curiosity the most was the Etch-A-Sketch — how exactly does that thing work? After popping open the plastic casing with a knife, pliers and other tools, you’ll find that it looks like the entire pane of glass is covered in a fine gray powder, and moving the dials scrapes powder off the glass to make patterns.
Probably could have guessed that if we’d thought about it for ten minutes, but this method is way more fun.
