  • According to TED.com, “Neil Harbisson was born completely color blind, but these days a device attached to his head turns color into audible frequencies. Instead of seeing a world in grayscale, Harbisson can hear a symphony of color — and yes, even listen to faces and paintings.”

In his TED Talk, Harbisson explains how this device has changed his perception and outlook of the world. “Before I dressed in a way that looks good,” he says. “Now I dress in a way that sounds good. Today I’m dressed in C-Major. If I had to go to a funeral I’d dress in B-Minor, which is turquoise, purple, and orange.” What if this product were mass-produced? How might businesses change the composition of their products so they’re more harmonically pleasing? “Imagine a restaurant where you can have Lady Gaga salads as starter,” Harbisson imagines. “This would get teenagers to eat their vegetables probably.”
