Watch A Brazilian Police Officer Refuse His Commander’s Orders And Side With The Protesters
Since late 2012, millions of citizens in Brazil have launched massive demonstrations, at first in protest of rising public transportation fares but later as a much broader protest against police brutality and policies that favor the rich. In this video, a commanding officer tells his subordinate, “You will charge the car toward them and scare them … I am giving you an order NOW!”
“I will not do that,” the officer responds.
“You will not, then leave now,” his commander response. “Give me that shit and leave.” He then strips the subordinate of his gun, and we watch as the officer walks away.
