  • Before Whitney Houston passed away earlier this year, she completed work on the film Sparkle, directed by Salim Akil and co-starring Jordin Sparks.

With the movie set to hit theaters August 17, songs from the film are being released early, and among them — the last one that the legendary Ms. Houston ever recorded.

“Celebrate” was written and produced by R. Kelly for Jordin Sparks and Whitney Houston.

  • This is perhaps the reason why Ms. Sparks was chosen to perform Houston’s classic “I Will Always Love You” in a tribute to the late singer at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.
