Mayor Mia Love Wows With RNC Speech
As the daughter of Haitian immigrants who came to the United States with just $10 in their pockets, Love emphasized the importance of personal responsibility in the fight for the American Dream.
She also invoked the names Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King, continuing, “It’s been told over 200 years with small steps and giant leaps, from a woman on a bus to a man with a dream and the bravery of the greatest generation, to the entrepreneurs of today,” she said. “This is the America we know because we built it.”
While media hype followed big name speakers Ann Romney and Chris Christie, the Internet was pulling out a more hidden product of the Convention and sending her speech trending into the wee hours of the night.
