For the longest time all of us fans of celebrity romance, rap music, and cool sound effects that upset Jimmy Fallon, have been waiting on baited breath and watching for updates in the tumultuous and exciting relationship between rappers Cardi B and Offset, of the rap group Migos. We’ve watched the couple fall in love, then hear rumors that Migos was cheating on Cardi B, which of course broke our hearts. Then we heard that Migos got Cardi B’s name tattooed on his neck, and the couple was getting ready to have a baby together. Now, Cardi B revealed on Twitter that the duo has actually been married for quite some time!

Cardi B outlined that the title of her album, Invasion of Privacy, was a reference to well — just how much she felt her privacy was being invaded. The public doesn’t have to know everything, you know! However, she reveals it now just to end rumors that her child was had out of wedlock, and it turns out that Cardi B and Offset have been married since September of last year! Wow! As Cardi B explains in her note-

“There are so many moments that I share with the world, and then there are moments that I want to keep to myself! Getting married was one of those moments!”

Since September… means the couple has been married for nine months now! Yes, nine months. Incredible. As Cardi B explains it, the entire marriage was done on a whim. As Cardi explains:

“Was one morning in September we woke up and decided to get married. We found someone to marry us, and she did. Just the two of us and my cousin. I said ‘I do,’ with no dress, no makeup, and no ring!”

This means that Offset’s public proposal in October was sort of all for show, which is pretty cool. We’ve got to salute Cardi B, she absolutely is owning her privacy, and we hope she continues to in the future. Hey, we need good stories, but she needs peace of mind, all right?

Cardi B’s revelation is in light of TMZ’s discovery of their marriage certificate which they wrote about here. Oh, TMZ. The definition of Invasion of Privacy. And the beats aren’t even as good!

TMZ’s search for this certificate was triggered when Offset said “I thank my wife” at the BET music awards, so I guess the invader of privacy is… Offset!? Oops!
