Céline Dion’s Heart Goes Onto Acting for Romantic Drama “Text for You”

We know Céline Dion by her amazing voice singing “My Heart Will Go On” in the movie Titanic. But did you know she will now put her voice into acting? 

Céline Dion joined Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan in Sony’s Screen Gems romantic drama “Text for You.” The movie is an English language remake of the German film SMS Fur Dich, based on Sofie Cramer’s novel. The film is about a woman who sends romantic text to her dead fiancé’s phone. Turns out the fiancé’s number was reassigned to a man going through a similar heartbreak. They end up meeting each other and have a connection but understandably can’t put the past behind them. 

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan will be playing the main characters. Chopra Jonas as the grieving widow who lost her fiancé and Heughan as the man with the number. 

Although it’s not confirmed what role Dion will play it must be hard for her after losing her late husband René Angélil to cancer in 2016. Does the romantic drama mean that Dion is giving love a second chance? 

Dion shares three children with Angélil, René Charles, 19 years old, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 10 years old. She recently celebrated her twins Nelson’s and Eddy’s birthday along with her Angélil in spirit. Dion’s Instagram post had a sweet and touching message to her twins knowing Angélil still looks after them.

“Nelson and Eddy, you have been bringing so much joy, love and laughter into our lives every single day for the past 10 years. You make me, your big brother and your Dad, who is for sure watching over you, so very proud. Happy birthday my beautiful boys! We love you so very much… – Mom, RC and Dad xx… ????”

Dion will not only be acting but will add some pizzazz to the love story with her music. She is a 52 year old Canadian woman who has sold more than 220 million albums worldwide. As of right now, Dion is the second best selling female artist. Dion’s music has been part of movie soundtracks such as Titanic, Beauty and the Beast, and Deadpool 2. She knows how to touch your heart and get you emotional simply with her music and her voice. Fans are wondering if her acting will be as speechless as her music. Most of them know it will get emotional through out the movie especially with Dion’s music.  

Chopra Jonas posted a tweet earlier in the week saying how honored she is to be working with Dion. She’s excited to work with the whole crew. 

Heughan can’t wait to begin filming the movie with an amazing cast and neither can we. Sony Pictures’ heart will go on throughout the making of the movie.

Heughan told ET Canada he’s a big fan of Celine Dion… doesn’t he have taste. “A music icon, as well as Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who will be terrific in this movie. I feel incredibly fortunate to be working alongside both of them and can’t wait for everyone to see this heartwarming movie,” Heughan added. 

Seem like most people aren’t familiar with Heughan. Heughan is a movie star and the lead actor for a popular tv show Outlander. Others do recognize him from other shows and movies he’s been in and oh boy aren’t we happy.

Fans love the trio for the movie Text for You and feel like it will be amazing.  How exciting!

Jim Strouse is directing Text for You from a script he wrote while Lauryn Kahnis undertakes the most recent re-writes of the script. Strouse is a writer and director known for Gone is Gone and The Incredible Jessica James.

A Star is Born and John Wick producer Basil Iwanyk will be producing Text for You along with Erica Lee and Esther Hornstein. There has not been release date for the movie yet, it will be announced when the production begins.
