  • First there was the awesome trailer, and now all our dreams are coming true. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has a YouTube channel. Officially called Seven Bucks Digital Studios, the channel is a collaboration with Studio71 and will upload new videos on Mondays and Fridays. Peep the first sketch above.

The first video stars some of the most recognizable stars on the internet, including a major appearance from YouTuber and noted Johnson associate Lilly “IISuperwomanII” Singh. Guest stars include Markiplier, Grace Helbig, Roman Atwood and Brittney Smith, Gigi Gorgeous, Alex Wassabi, LaurDIY, King Bach, and Flula.

Dwayne Johnson is arguably the biggest actor on earth right now. According to Forbes (and his memorable Instagram), he made more money from acting than any other person on the planet in 2015. Throw in nearly 60 million Instagram followers AND Facebook likes, and you’ve got a world-shaking level of popularity.

That’s what makes this such a big deal. Mainstream celebrities have tried with mixed success to cross over into the digital world. Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Rainn Wilson, and more have launched their own YouTube channels. But no one as popular as Johnson has tried to make such a splash on YouTube, in part because there are very few people as popular as him.

Whether Seven Bucks Digital Studios will catch on and make Johnson a fixture of the digital world remains to be seen. But when the first video gains over a million views and 100k+ likes in a day, you know you’re off to a good start.
