When your drone gets stuck on a roof and you can’t climb out after it, there’s only one thing left to do – get another drone and send it after the first one.
“Two months ago my roommate drunkenly lost my small drone on a neighbor’s roof,” Harrisen Howes explains. “Two months later after upgrading to a larger drone I attempted a rescue of the smaller drone using hooks I made from coat hangers.”
It’s kind of like a scene from a very corny action movie – especially since it’s set to a dramatic track from “Interstellar” – though you have to give the guy credit, hooking the drone and then delivering it safely back to the ground with a remote control must have been pretty tricky.
The rescued drone was a Syma X5C and the heroic drone that retrieved it was a DJI Phantom 3 Professional, if you’re curious.
