Have You Seen Ryan Gosling Cracking Up on SNL Yet?

I’ve got to hand it to Saturday Night Live – they’ve been turning out some genuinely funny, YouTube-ready sketches in the last few weeks. Following their hilarious Thanksgiving/Adele video and their Star Wars auditions parody, we’ve got a new one featuring Ryan Gosling delightfully losing his shit over Kate McKinnon’s alien abduction story.

The sketch is about three redneck types being interviewed by government officials after getting pulled into a spaceship. Cecily Strong and Ryan Gosling’s characters had a transforming experience, waking up to beautiful beings made of calming light. “That being touched my head, I felt every emotion in its purest form,” Gosling said. “It was amazing, and I cried, sir.”

Things were a bit different for McKinnon’s character, who woke up in a drafty metal dome, without her pants, where 40 gray aliens watched her pee in a bowl. “I don’t think I was dealing with the top brass.”

McKinnon’s deadpan performance, probably with a bit of improv thrown in, was pretty hard for everyone to handle. Things start to fall apart around 1:40 in the video, as Aidy Bryant struggles not to laugh at the peeing-in-a-bowl story – or more likely at Ryan Gosling, who was having serious trouble keeping a straight face.

By the time McKinnon got to the part about “sitting on a stool while 40 gray aliens take turns gently batting my knockers around,” Gosling had burst into full-on giggles and barely managed to get through the rest of the sketch.
