It seems as though fans of Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber’s past romance, also known as Jelena “shippers,” are still holding on to hope even after the singer’s marriage to Hailey Baldwin.
Recently, Baldwin revealed a new tattoo of the initial “J” on her ring finger in honor of Justin Bieber. And while most fans think this new ink is adorable, others are claiming that it looks just like the promise ring Bieber gifted to Selena Gomez back in 2012.

Mr. K, a known tattoo artist, originally posted a photo of the tattoo with the caption: “J is for @justinbieber.” And this is when fans started comparing the image to a gift he gave to ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez about eight years ago.

“This woman is crazy, she got the same tattoo as the ring that Justin gave to Selena,” one social media user commented.
A follow-up comment mentioned: “That’s the same font that Selena’s J ring had lol.”

Another fan said: “We can’t keep saying it’s a coincidence.”

Bieber, in fact, still has a tattoo of Selena Gomez on his forearm. However, the face has been slightly altered.
The couple is definitely not foreign to getting new ink. Baldwin has a series of small and delicate tattoos, all with their own special meaning, while Bieber has over 60 tattoos on his body.
Justin was a kid when he dated Selena, lets get past this obsession. He's married and Hailey is clearly better for Justin in all aspects of his life.

Most recently, Justin Bieber had a rose tattooed on his neck. And within the rose, many fans noticed that there may be an “S” subtly placed in the middle on the flower’s design. They, of course, believe that this initial stands for Selena.

Fans of Gomez were quick to make sassy and even insulting comments about the resemblance between Hailey’s new tattoo and the 2012 gift to Gomez. The promise ring originally sparked rumors years ago that the pair was engaged. And while Bieber and Selena Gomez started dating back in 2010, the couple was on and off until 2018.
The “Sorry” singer started dating Baldwin shortly after his final breakup with Gomez in 2018 and the pair got engaged later that year.

This caused some controversy between fandoms. Many speculated that the lyric: “In two months you replaced us…like it was easy” on her track “Lose You To Love Me” was referencing his romance with Baldwin following their split.
Baldwin faced a lot of hate from fans of Gomez, also known as “Selenators,” online.
In response, the “Rare” singer said: “Please be kind to everyone. It doesn’t matter what the situation is — if you’re my fan don’t be rude to anyone, please.”

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, he mentioned the above lyric and how difficult it must have been to see her ex move on and be with someone else “so fast.”
In response to his lyric reference, Gomez said, “I think I had become numb to it, and it would be stupid of me if I didn’t acknowledge what I had felt because it would be inauthentic, and that’s everything I claim to be and do [being authentic] I know there are thousands of people, men and women, who have felt this feeling, and it’s extremely real, and on top of the social media and everything, it doesn’t matter if you’re in my position or if you’re in someone’s because you’re always going to somehow find this negative space. It’s just that’s what—that’s why I have to be careful, and I just have to take steps back and just focus on what I’m doing and no one else.”

Many fans and social media users believe that she was referencing Baldwin and Bieber’s romance and engagement as well as her rocky relationship with Bieber on that track.
In terms of Gomez finding a new love interest, a source told Life & Style that she is ready. However, they explained that it “has to be the right man. She refuses to settle for just anyone and now that she’s comfortable in her own skin, she would rather be alone than with the wrong person.”
Ever since the couple’s engagement, Hailey Baldwin has been compared to Gomez and harassed online by fans.

During a Facebook Live show, she opened up about being compared to others and reading fans responses to her relationship.
“I’ve had a really, really hard go and a really hard time with a lot of the things people say and a lot of the ways that I feel like people have made comparisons and put me in a position where they’ve made me feel like less of a woman,” Baldwin explained.
And despite all of the drama, it seems as though the Biebers are definitely confident in their marriage.

It seems like a stretch to say that Baldwin would have copied the exact font of Gomez’s old ring on purpose. However, some fans refuse to believe that this is just another coincidence.
