  • This is pretty awesome. We told you earlier about Mike Boyd, the guy who learned to ride a unicycle in two and a half hours, just to see if he could do it. Before that, he mastered the kickflip on a skateboard, the easiest move in Tony Hawk’s “Pro Skater” video game, in five hours and 47 minutes.

Now, Tony Hawk has raised the stakes and challenged him to learn the heelflip, which is like a kickflip but requires a 360 degree turn. More difficult, but for a good cause – Hawk’s challenge is an effort to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK.

It started out pretty well, but Boyd had trouble sticking the landing, and at one point he even fell and twisted his ankle. But finally, he executed a heelflip in four hours and 23 minutes.

Also in support of the charity, Tony Hawk has donated a signed skateboard deck that you can bid for on eBay. You can also donate directly to Boyd’s JustGiving page or to the Muscular Dystrophy UK site.
