Prince, one of the most loved and well-respected artists in the music industry, passed away on April 21st, 2016 at age 57. As the public erupted with tributes and status updates memorializing the musical genius, Google decided to design its artwork honoring the singer’s famous song “Purple Rain.”
In large purple letters and raindrops surrounding, the Google Doodle pays respect to the legend Prince. Google Play Music has also been colored purple on the web.
Looks like the world is paying tribute with one very special color today.
