Burberry Made a Trailer for the Coolest Ever Imaginary Blockbuster
Thomas Burberry was the founder of Burberry, a British fashion company. Now, the company, in partnership with Asif Kapadia, is bringing their founder back to life. Which means they’re able to do something Disney has been trying to do for ages. (If you like movie trailers, check out Chris Evans as a hot uncle in the new Gifted trailer.)
According to GQ, this is a fictionalized account of the real man. Yes, Burberry created World War I uniforms. He outfitted an arctic exploration. He was part of a historic flight from London to Cape Town. But no, he wasn’t in love with the pilot. Betty Kirby-Green flew “the Burberry” nine years after he died.
The advertisement is set up like a movie trailer. And I really want to see the movie that would come from this trailer. It stars Domhnall Gleeson, Sienna Miller, Dominic West, and Lily James — AKA a who’s who of young British acting talent. It’s also just a really good ad for Burberry.
