Okay, so you may or may not be familiar with this incredible little sea creature, but just in case you missed the hype, we’ll fill you in. And on the off chance that you can’t handle Mr. Shrimp, here’s some cute dogs for your daily animal fix.
The mantis shrimp may be small, but this little deep sea dwelling predator is more well equipped to handle the world than you are. He’s got six pupils (three in each eye) allowing him to process polarized light, and insane hunting skills. Check out this video of shrimpy in action:

According to the Monterey Bay Aquarium:
“Aquarists and scuba divers refer to them as “thumb-splitters” because their claws pack a punch as powerful as a .22-caliber bullet.
Those same claws can shatter a clam shell, and crack open a crab or shatter glass. They can bring down a blue-ringed octopus or a fish. The claws are made of a material so hard it can deliver 50,000 blows between molts – without breaking. It’s being studied by scientists as a model for crafting super-strong body armor for soldiers.”
