  • ABCNews and Discovery have report that Japan’s National Science Museum has officially filmed the first ever footage of a giant squid in the Pacific Ocean.

After hundreds of attempts to dive 3,000 feet or more below the water’s surface, scientists can now rejoice over having filmed a 26-foot-long the creature of legends in its natural habitat.

While YouTube is helping to spread the word about this amazing find, Discovery Channel will air its ‘Monster Squid: The Giant Is Real’ special on Sunday, January 27 with Japanese public broadcaster NHK airing its own similar segment.
