The Nerdist Chris Hardwick Will Host the 3rd Annual Streamy Awards

  • It’s official! Chris Hardwick, otherwise known as YouTube’s The Nerdist, is set to host the 3rd Annual Streamy Awards, an event which honors excellence in original online video programming with the tagline #ItsOurTurn.

    According to Tubefilter, Hardwick’s statement reads: “Don’t tell television, but there is some SUPERIOR programming being made on the Interwebz. I am honored to help give the Web community, many of whom are my friends, the accolades they deserve.  Also, the show is going to be breezy and fun.  I think the Streamys could be a new Tonys! DO YOU HEAR ME NPH?!”

    The Fine Bros.‘ mega hit MyMusic series took the most nominations, including Best Comedy Series, Best Direction, and Best Guest Appearance by Felicia Day. Following up from there is Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawnwith eight nominations and Yahoo!’s comedy series, Burning Love, with five nominations, including Best Guest Appearance by Ken Jeong and Best Female Performance by Kristen Bell.

    YouTubers also abound in the list of those recognized, including The Philip DeFranco ShowRyan Higa,DailyGraceiJustineThe Young TurksSourceFed, and our own What’s Trending!

    So buy your tickets and mark your calendar for February 17, 2013 when the 3rd Annual Streamy Awards, presented by Coca­‐Cola, will be streamed live worldwide from The Hollywood Palladium.
