Saudi Comedians Create “No Woman, No Drive” Viral Video To Protest Ban On Women Driving

  • When social media ignited with chatter about Saudi Arabian women’s plan to set October 26 as a goal date to protest the ban on driving, comedians Hisham Fageeh, Fahad Albutairi, and Alaa Wardi decided to support the effort by catching the Internet’s attention with a tried and true method: the parody music video.

    Since it was posted on October 26, “No Woman, No Drive,” has already racked up over 3 million views.

    Fageeh, a 26-year-old comedian, known for his Saudi YouTube series, La Yekhtar, told The Daily Beast that the idea came to him in the shower when he was singing Bob Marley. Two months later, and he and has friends have the attention of 3 million people.
